NBA (More PTS, REB, AST in the 1st half): LeBron James (CLE) or Tie vs. Kevin Durant (GS)

Odds: N/A

Pick: LeBron James (CLE) or Tie

Confidence: 8/10

The Warriors look to close out the Cavaliers in Game 5 after last year’s 3-1 blown deficit and I think they do it. Kevin Durant adds that extra dimension that can’t be accounted for unless the Cavs shoot 60+ percent from 3PT like they did in Game 4. Still, LeBron James is the best all-around player in this series.

1st Half PTS, REB, AST per game:

Game 1:

LeBron James – 13 PTS, 5 REB, 3 AST (1Q) + 6 PTS, 6 REB, 1 AST (2Q) = 19 PTS, 11 REB, 4 AST 1st half

Kevin Durant – 8 PTS, 1 REB, 3 AST (1Q) + 13 PTS, 3 REB, 1 AST (2Q) = 21 PTS, 4 REB, 4 AST 1st half

Total = LBJ 34 v. 29 KD

Game 2:

LeBron James – 10 PTS, 1 REB, 5 AST (1Q) + 8 PTS, 4 REB, 5 AST (2Q) = 18 PTS, 5 REB, 10 AST 1st half

Kevin Durant – 8 PTS, 3 REB, 3 AST (1Q) + 7 PTS, 4 REB, 1 AST (2Q) = 15 PTS, 7 REB, 4 AST 1st half

Total = LBJ 33 v. 26 KD

Game 3:

LeBron James – 16 PTS, 1 REB, 2 AST (1Q) + 11 PTS, 3 REB, 1 AST (2Q) = 27 PTS, 4 REB, 3 AST 1st half

Kevin Durant – 8 PTS, 3 REB, 1 AST (1Q) + 6 PTS, 1 REB, 0 AST (2Q) = 14 PTS, 4 REB, 1 AST 1st half

Total = LBJ 34 v. 19 KD

Game 4:

LeBron James – 8 PTS, 4 REB, 5 AST (1Q) + 14 PTS, 2 REB, 2 AST (2Q) = 22 PTS, 6 REB, 7 AST 1st half

Kevin Durant – 7 PTS, 1 REB, 1 AST (1Q) + 10 PTS, 1 REB, 2 AST (2Q) = 17 PTS, 2 REB, 3 AST 1st half

Total = LBJ 35 v. 22 KD

In terms of PTS+REB+AST per player, LeBron has only lost 1 quarter of play (out of 8) in the 1st half to Durant through 4 games. LeBron has averaged 34 1st half PTS+REB+AST vs. Durant’s 24 1st half PTS+REB+AST in the series. LeBron is simply the more versatile player and will impact the game significantly in at least one of these three ways.
